Annual Open House and Sale
(Fourth Thursday in April at St. James Westminister Church, London, Ontario)

Our Annual Open House is a celebration and display of the year’s work from classes, focus groups and workshops as well as independent work.

Guild members Nancy Avery (“Black Sheep in the Family”), Léonie Hartley-Hoover (“Girl Crazy”, a collaboration with Joan Hartley-Scott), and Roberta Whitmore (“Tropical Dreams”) have donated quilts to be auctioned as part of The Quilt Project.   

Nancy and Roberta’s quilts are available for online bidding until November 11th, for final sale on Saturday, November 17th at the Stratford Auction. "Girl Crazy" (pictured here) was auctioned at the Distillery in Toronto on October 23rd and donated back to the Quilt in Stratford as a permanent gift to the gallery

“Girl Crazy” has also been chosen to appear on all the marketing materials for this year, including the corporate auction invitations, event posters and event tickets. Large and small tote bags and limited edition signed prints are available to purchase. They appear on the Quilt website (look on the Bidding page under “merchandise”).

Engelina Van Essen's "Dwelling Places" and Roberta Whitmore's "Triathlon Quilt" have been accepted into the 2008 Grand National Quilt Show, as have pieces by Debbie Compeau and Iris Rountree. The title of the exhibition is "Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow" and the exhibition will run from May 9th to July 6th, 2008 at the Kitchener Waterloo Art Gallery. Grace Sweeney has had three pieces (two wall pieces and one purse) chosen for the exhibition entitled “Wild Things” sponsored by the Focus on Fibre Art Association in Edmonton. Pieces will be displayed at the Main Gallery in the Alberta Crafts Council May 3rd - July 5th followed by the Stony Plain Multicultural Centre, July 24th - August 19th and the Donalda Gallery for the Arts, July 31st  - September 2nd, 2008.
